Zephyr Float Center

Kingston, NY
This project involved a complete commercial fit-up for a float center, from drafting plans to construction and design collaboration. Highlights include custom industrial light fixtures, a Manila rope wall, and floating wood shelves integrated into an old structural beam.

A comprehensive project involving the design and construction of a sensory deprivation float center. From initial drafts to final construction, I collaborated closely with the owner to create a space that blends modern functionality with rustic industrial charm.

Custom lighting and industrial design

Custom light fixtures were designed and fabricated using industrial materials, including exposed pipes and Edison bulbs, to complement the rustic aesthetic of the space. These fixtures provide warm, inviting lighting while adding a unique visual focal point to the interior.

Manila rope wall for natural partitioning

A striking Manila rope wall was installed to act as a natural partition, creating a sense of privacy and separation without closing off the space. This feature adds texture and warmth while maintaining an open and airy feel throughout the center.

Floating wood shelves with reclaimed beams

Floating wood shelves were custom-built and seamlessly integrated into an existing structural beam. The shelves provide functional display space while highlighting the natural beauty of the aged wood, enhancing the rustic character of the interior.

Thoughtful planning and execution

From drafting the architectural plans to collaborating on the interior design, this project showcases my ability to manage all aspects of a commercial build. The result is a space that is both functional and visually captivating, perfectly tailored to the client’s vision.

Blending Rustic Charm with Modern Functionality

This float center fit-up demonstrates how thoughtful design and skilled craftsmanship can transform a space. The blend of industrial elements, natural materials, and functional design creates a unique and inviting environment for visitors.
